More secrets will emerge from beneath the waves in The Rig season 2, which sees the surviving characters reunite in the Arctic Circle for more terrifying research into a potential extinction-level threat.
A previously secret world of unexplainable menace came to light in the show's first season, claiming the lives of several crew members aboard the oil rig known as the Kinloch Bravo.
Now, Magnus (Iain Glen), Rose (Emily Hampshire) and Fulmer (Martin Compston) find themselves steeped in the work of their shady employer, even rubbing shoulders with the CEO in season 2 (as played by Star Trek's Alice Krige).
It remains to be seen who can be trusted and who will make it out of this latest chapter alive, with The Rig season 2 trailer teasing an enormous secret lurking under the surface of the ice.
